Suspension

High-Performance Suspension

Great high-performance shocks or struts are essential in Harrisburg, but when you are ready to take your car or truck suspension to the next level you need the experience of the auto repair mechanics at Dale's Automotive to get the job done right.

Leaf Springs: Trust the auto repair mechanics at Dale's Automotive to install this simple assembly that is the backbone of high-performance truck suspension. Absorb the shock of rough terrain when you are pushing your truck to its limit. These long, curved strips of steel are stacked in order of length and joined by a bolt at the center. Removing old rear axle springs can be a tough job and getting your new leaf springs bolted on tight is critical. The experienced professionals at Dale's Automotive are up for the task. Drop by the shop at 3715 Derry St or give us a call at 717-564-5110 to set up an appointment to get your new leaf springs installed fast.

Coil Springs: Coil springs look exactly like a simple coil. Placed on the top of an axle your coil springs store and release the energy when your car or truck is in motion. The coil spring absorbs the shock of Harrisburg potholes, speed bumps and other turbulent factors on track or rough terrain. Ensuring old springs are removed and new coils are aligned and fastened correctly is essential for maximum safety and handling. Trust the experienced auto repair specialists at Dale's Automotive at 3715 Derry St for fast, affordable coil spring installation.

Lowering Kits For A Mean Sport Stance

Drivers in Harrisburg come to Dale's Automotive to achieve that low-stance, high-performance sports car appearance and improve handling. At Dale's Automotive we replace stock springs with lowering springs that offer more coils in a condensed stack. Trust the expert mechanics at Dale's Automotive to create the correct amount of tension between the frame and the suspension system. Call Dale's Automotive at 717-564-5110 and schedule an appointment to install your lowering kit and shorten the distance between your car's body and the wheels to lessen the center of gravity and increase responsive handling.

Lift Kits

Got massive monster tires? Truck owners in Harrisburg come to Dale's Automotive to install high-performance lift kits that will increase clearance and provide that aggressive monster truck stance. Securely installing strut mounts, longer springs, new shocks, and a range of hardware to raise up your truck is a tough job. Precisely calibrating the ground clearance larger wheels need is important for optimal safety and performance. Trust the auto repair experts at Dale's Automotive to transform the look and function of your truck. Take on rugged terrain or just look cool when cruising by giving your truck a little lift. Call 717-564-5110 or stop by our auto repair shop at 3715 Derry St to set up an appointment.

Sway Bars: At Dale's Automotive we install sway bars to help driving enthusiasts in Harrisburg grip corners more easily and reduce the demand placed on the springs and suspension system. Prevent body roll when driving aggressively in curves with cold-formed steel alloy sway bars installed with exacting precision to offer bilateral spring deflection. The expert mechanics at Dale's Automotive in Harrisburg can help you decrease the load difference between the wheels inside and outside the curve by adding sway bars today. Get convenient, affordable fast auto repairs and sway bar installation for high-performance cars at Dale's Automotive every day. Call Dale's Automotive at 717-564-5110 or stop by our auto repair shop in Harrisburg today.

Frame Rails: Ready to race? Offset chassis are not permitted on many tracks and require drivers to install parallel frame rails. Chassis frame rails are built to strict guidelines to provide maximum stabilization in a left-hand turn. Let our expert mechanics at Dale's Automotive be your race team and make minute changes to the geometry of your suspension with frame rails to provide you with a total lower weight in the turns.

Tie Rods

At Dale's Automotive we know driving enthusiasts in Harrisburg demand more of their high-performance cars and trucks. When you turn a corner on Harrisburg streets your front wheels pivot on steering knuckles connected to the steering rack. Your wheels are connected by the tie rod to the drag link bar to provide safety and handling in a turn. High-performance tie bars boast micro-adjustment options to make height and length adjustments between the tie rod and the wheel. The tie rod end that connects to the steering knuckle is susceptible to wear and failure with aggressive driving. Failure can throw off the car's alignment in a tight curve when the chassis of a car is under the most stress. High performance tie bar ends offer precision manufactured ball bearings to reduce wear and critical failures.

Wheelie Bars

These simple anti-roll devices look like casters connected to the rear bumper by long bars of flexible Chromoly tubing. Let Dale's Automotive be a part of your race team and install wheelie bars when you are ready to race. Wheelie bars take over in a skid and progressively unload the energy of the tire to keep a car right side up. Ready to add this important safety option to your car? Call Dale's Automotive at 717-564-5110 and let's talk wheelie bars.

What People Say About Us

I highly recommend Dales Automotive. It's a family run repair shop, and I've been going to them for nearly 10 years now. My parents have been getting their cars repaired here for longer than that. You see, I don't trust mechanics...but I definitely trust Dale. I drive an older car, which means I need a trustworthy mechanic who won't charge me for more than I need, and he doesn't. I dropped my car off about 2 weeks ago because I noticed my breaks felt squishy and I wasn't stopping quickly enough. (I usually drop my car off the night before and pick it up before they close.) At first glance, they couldn't really find anything wrong, so they called me to find out exactly what it was doing. I explained to them how it was acting and they put it up in the air to recheck it. They found out the problem and fixed it and my breaks are good as new! They always take good care of my vehicle, and will let me know (in english) when something looks like it's going to need to be repaired in the future. I've never been charged for something I didn't need...unlike other places. Sure, it can be expensive...but I don't feel like they're using me. Some things are just more costly to repair, especially when my car has over 200,000 miles on it! But thankfully they accept the autopride card. That thing is a lifesaver. It allows me to make payments over the period of several months...interest free.

I will never go anywhere else with my car again. I came here after taking my car to Monroe Muffler Break to have my oil changed. Monroe cracked my oil pan while changing my oil, all of the oil leaked out, and not knowing any of this I drove. When my oil light went on I panicked and drove back there where I was treated awfully and told it was my fault. They told me that I needed to buy a new oil pan which is very expensive. As a full-time student with no income I had no idea what to do or what kind of damage that I had done to my car driving on it with no oil. Panicked, upset, and not knowing anything about cars I had my car taken here to Dales. I was treated wonderfully and my car was taken excellent care of. They were able to fix my oil pan and assure me that my car was ok. Every single time that I need something done on my car, they do their best to squeeze me in. These men do excellent work and really care about what they are doing. If there is anyway for me to get my car to Dales, I will continue to return time and again.

This shop has consistently provided excellent service at great prices. They've always been very friendly and accommodating. They do only the work requested, without digging for other issues that may or may not actually exist. Wonderful local business!

Knowledge, integrity, and determination to do the job right. That's what you will find at Dale's Automotive. And reasonable prices, too. I know that sounds a bit like a commercial, but it's all true. Sadly, it is NOT true of the vast majority of big company service places that loudly advertise their typically terrible service (I'm looking at YOU Tires Plus!).

Thanks for getting the inspection done! And I really appreciate you telling me which stuff didn't need to be replaced right away, saving me hundreds in the process! And Dale, thanks for letting me drive my car home with you in tow to drive it back to the shop so I didn't need to call a cab from your shop, that was priceless!

I hardly ever review things but I felt compelled after my many experiences with Dale. 5 stars, hands down. He is timely, responsive, hard-working, dependable and trustworthy. I have referred many people to him and will continue to do so with utmost confidence. I cannot recommend him enough!

Dale is AWESOME!!! He has been servicing our Hondas for 25+ years. He is the perfect mechanic- fair, expert, quick and SO easy to work with. We just love him. We have older (1991, 1999) Hondas with a ton of mileage on them and we have Dale service them regularly. He keeps them purring like kittens! My 1999 Civic with 265K gets around 34mpg in town, stop & go traffic, with the AC blasting in the summertime!! Who could ask for anything more? Super nice guy too...! Could not recommend more highly!!

Dale is the most wonderful Honda Mechanic I have ever met. Someone from my neighborhood and church introduced me to Dale almost two years ago. Not only is the shop just 2 miles from my house, but Dale is always available to do the small stuff at the spur of the moment. He is the most reasonable Honda service around town and he never tries to sell you unnecessary services. Great service, great prices, and a great person!

I learned about Dale's repair from a friend at work. She highly recommended his shop and I agree with this recommendation. He does great work, doesn't do work that is not needed and charges very reasonable prices. He's just the best!

An honest and reliable repair shop! Dale has been specializing in Honda and Acura repair for many years and it shows in his ability to diagnose and repair my cars. He is very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Repairs here are often half of what the dealership would charge without the hassle of the dealership. The shop offers free wi-fi while you wait and free coffee.
